Simple Black Pepper Tofu
Ingredients:
- 2 blocks of silken tofu
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed and finely chopped
- 1/2 onion, finely chopped
- 1 packet black pepper sauce (such as Saori brand)
- 50 ml water
- Cooking oil, as needed
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Tofu: Cut the silken tofu into cubes. Heat oil in a pan and fry the tofu pieces until they are golden and crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside.
-
Sauté the Aromatics: In the same pan, add a bit more oil if needed. Sauté the crushed garlic and chopped onion until they become fragrant and translucent.
-
Combine Ingredients: Add the fried tofu back into the pan. Pour in the black pepper sauce and water, stirring gently to coat the tofu evenly with the sauce.
-
Simmer: Cook the tofu mixture over low heat, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to reduce slightly. Stir occasionally until the sauce has thickened and the tofu is well-coated.
-
Serve: Transfer the tofu to a serving dish. Serve hot with your favorite side dishes.
