Crispy Fried Tofu with Fitriโ€™s Flour Blend

Ingredients:

  • 400 grams tofu, cut into cubes
  • 3 tablespoons seasoned flour
  • 5 tablespoons water
  • 5 tablespoons coarse tapioca flour
  • ยฝ teaspoon white pepper powder
  • ยฝ teaspoon chicken powder
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Tofu: Begin by dissolving the seasoned flour in a small amount of water to create a thick batter. Dip the tofu cubes into this batter, ensuring each piece is well-coated.

  2. Coat the Tofu: In a separate bowl, combine the coarse tapioca flour, white pepper powder, and chicken powder. Roll each tofu cube in this mixture, ensuring an even coating on all sides.

  3. Heat the Oil: Pour enough oil into a frying pan to submerge the tofu cubes. Heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).

  4. Fry the Tofu: Carefully add the coated tofu cubes to the hot oil. Fry them for about 3 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

  5. Drain and Serve: Remove the tofu from the oil and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil. Serve hot with your choice of sambal or whole red chili peppers for an extra kick.
