Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sweet Potatoes: Start by washing, peeling, and cutting the sweet potatoes into small chunks. Steam the sweet potato chunks for about 20 minutes or until they are tender and soft.

  2. Make the Sweet Potato Paste: Once steamed, transfer the sweet potato chunks to a food processor. Pulse until smooth and creamy. If the mixture is too thick to blend, add a small amount of water to help it along.

  3. Preheat the Oven: While the sweet potatoes are cooling, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a square glass baking dish with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

  4. Mix the Ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine the sweet potato paste, brown sugar, almond flour, rice flour (or buckwheat flour), cocoa powder, honey, and salt. Whisk together until all ingredients are fully incorporated and smooth.

  5. Bake the Brownies: Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish. Spread evenly. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. If it comes out dry, the brownies are done.

  6. Cool and Set: Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes to set completely. After they cool, remove them from the tray and wait an additional 10 minutes before slicing.

  7. Serve and Enjoy: Cut into square pieces and serve your Sweet Potato Brownies with a hot cup of coffee or Masala Chai. They are also great as a snack for kids, so feel free to pack them into lunchboxes!

These sweet potato brownies offer a deliciously healthy twist on a classic dessert. Their rich, chocolaty flavor and dense texture make them perfect for anyone craving a gluten-free treat. Enjoy them at your next tea time or as a nutritious snack for the whole family!
