Wild Rice, Dried Fruit, and Toasted Hazelnut Stuffing Recipe

Ingredients:

Quantity Ingredient
5 tbsp Unsalted margarine
2 Onions
1 pinch Sugar
1 Celery stalk
6 cloves Garlic
1 cup Dried cranberries
1 Pear
1/2 cup Wild rice
1/2 cup Brown rice
1/2 cup Toasted hazelnuts
2 tsp Sage
2 tsp Rosemary
2 tsp Thyme
2 tbsp Chives
2 tbsp Parsley

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).

  2. Melt 3 tablespoons of unsalted margarine over medium heat in a skillet.

  3. Add onions and a pinch of sugar to the skillet and sautรฉ, stirring frequently, until the onions caramelize, which should take about 7 minutes.

  4. Transfer the caramelized onions to a large bowl.

  5. Return the skillet to the heat and melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of unsalted margarine.

  6. Add the celery and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, which should take about 5 minutes.

  7. Transfer the softened celery and garlic to the bowl with the caramelized onions.

  8. Dice the pear and add it to the bowl along with the dried cranberries, wild rice, brown rice, toasted hazelnuts, sage, rosemary, thyme, chives, and parsley.

  9. Toss all the ingredients in the bowl together until well mixed.

  10. Transfer the stuffing mixture to a greased casserole dish. You can use either unsalted margarine or cooking spray to grease the dish.

  11. Cover the casserole dish with foil.

  12. Bake the stuffing in the preheated oven for 1 hour.

  13. Once done, remove the foil and serve the stuffing hot alongside your favorite main dishes.
