Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 1/2 cups of water, the spice package from the couscous, and 2 tablespoons of butter. 🍲 Heat the mixture to a boil.

  2. Once boiling, add the couscous to the saucepan. Cover the saucepan and set it aside, allowing the couscous to absorb the flavorful liquid.

  3. Meanwhile, prepare the chicken. In a large ziplock bag, combine the all-purpose flour, seasoning salt, and mix well.

  4. Add the chicken cutlets to the ziplock bag and shake until the chicken is evenly coated with the seasoned flour mixture.

  5. In a medium sauté pan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. 🍳 Add the coated chicken cutlets to the pan and cook until they are golden brown on one side. Avoid turning the chicken while cooking to ensure a crispy exterior.

  6. Once the chicken is golden brown, carefully turn each piece over. Add the capers, lemon juice, remaining 1 tablespoon of butter, and 1/4 cup of water to the pan. 🍋

  7. Continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce starts to thicken slightly and the chicken is cooked through.

  8. To serve, fluff the couscous with a fork and divide it among serving plates. 🍽️ Place a chicken cutlet on top of each serving of couscous, and generously spoon the lemon caper sauce over the chicken.

  9. Garnish with fresh parsley or lemon slices if desired, and enjoy your delightful Something Different Chicken! 🎉

This recipe is perfect for beginner cooks and can be prepared in under 30 minutes, making it an ideal option for busy weeknights or whenever you’re craving a delicious homemade meal with a unique twist!
