Ideal for a quick weeknight dinner, this recipe is both easy and delicious. It takes only 30 minutes if you’re using fresh salmon fillets, and it can be served with a simple roasted tomato and pumpkin soup for a complete, healthy meal.
Ingredients:
For the Salmon:
- 500 grams Salmon fillet
- 1 Onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons Lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon Whole black peppercorns, crushed
- 2 teaspoons Garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon Extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Paprika powder
- Salt, to taste
- 3 tablespoons Lemon juice
For the Sauce:
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon Sambal Oelek
Instructions:
-
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). While the oven heats, chop the onion and set it aside.
-
In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped onion, lemon zest, crushed black pepper, garlic powder, olive oil, paprika powder, salt, and lemon juice. Stir the mixture until all ingredients are evenly combined.
-
Place the salmon fillets in an oven-proof dish and pour the prepared mixture over the salmon. Use a brush to evenly distribute the marinade if it pools in one spot.
-
Once the oven reaches the desired temperature, place the salmon inside and bake for 15 minutes or until the fish reaches a light pink color and flakes easily with a fork.
-
While the salmon is cooking, prepare the sauce. In a separate bowl, mix together the Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and sambal oelek. Stir thoroughly to combine.
-
Once the salmon is done, remove it from the oven and cut it into 4 equal pieces.
-
Serve each piece of salmon with a dollop of the tangy sauce on top or alongside for dipping.
For a complete meal, serve this Grilled Tangy Lime Salmon Steak with a side of Roasted Tomato and Pumpkin Soup. Enjoy this vibrant, flavorful dinner with your loved ones!
Notes:
- If you use frozen salmon fillets, you may need to adjust the cooking time to ensure it’s fully cooked through.
