Ingredients

  • 2 tsp Fenugreek Seeds
  • 3 Dry Red Chilies
  • 1/4 cup Grated Coconut
  • 1 1/2 cups Yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp Ghee
  • Salt to taste

For Tempering:

  • 1 tsp Ghee
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • A few Curry Leaves

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Instructions:

  1. In a pan, heat 1/2 tsp of ghee. Add fenugreek seeds and dry red chilies. Fry until golden brown. Once done, remove from heat and let it cool.
  2. In a mixer grinder, add the cooled fenugreek, coconut, salt, and yogurt. Grind them into a smooth paste, adding a little water if needed.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and add the remaining yogurt and salt. Mix well.
  4. For tempering, heat 1 tsp ghee in a small pan. Add mustard seeds and sauté for 10 seconds. Then, add curry leaves and turn off the heat.
  5. Pour this tempering into the prepared tambli and mix well.
  6. Serve the Menthe Tambli with rice, chao chao thoran, and papad for a complete meal.
