Ingredients
- 100g Wheat Grass
- 8 Small Tomatoes (or 20g Cherry Tomatoes)
- 20g Tamarind
- 1 ½ tsp Rasam Powder
- ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
- ½ tsp Mustard Seeds (Rai)
- 2 Garlic Cloves
- ½ tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1 Dry Red Chili
- A few Curry Leaves
- A handful of Fresh Coriander
- Salt, to taste
- ½ tsp Asafoetida (Hing)
- Water, as needed

Cook Time: 25 minutes
Instructions
- Rinse the wheat grass thoroughly. Soak tamarind in water for 10 minutes, then extract its juice.
- Blend the wheat grass and tamarind juice together, adding a bit of water. Strain the mixture and set it aside.
- In a pan, add hing, chopped tomatoes, wheat grass-tamarind juice, turmeric powder, salt, and curry leaves. Let it come to a boil.
- Once boiling, add the rasam powder and stir well. Let it simmer for 2 minutes, then turn off the heat.
- In a small tempering pan, heat ghee. Add mustard seeds, dry red chili, garlic, and cumin seeds. Let them cook for about 10 seconds.
- Pour the tempering into the rasam, mix well, and garnish with fresh coriander.
- Serve the Wheat Grass Rasam with rice and beetroot thoran for a complete South Indian meal.
