Instructions:

  1. Cook the Rice:
    Start by washing the rice thoroughly under cold water. Once cleaned, transfer the rice to a pressure cooker. Add a pinch of salt and 2 cups of water. Close the lid and cook for 2 whistles. After cooking, turn off the heat and allow the pressure to release naturally. Once the pressure is released, open the cooker, fluff the rice with a fork, and let it cool slightly.

  2. Prepare the Herbed Butter Mix:
    In a large saucepan, melt the salted butter over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and allow them to splutter for a few seconds, releasing their aroma. Add the finely chopped garlic and sauté until fragrant and slightly golden.

  3. Add the Vegetables & Seasonings:
    Next, toss in the steamed green peas, followed by the dried oregano, thyme leaves, and red chili flakes. Stir the mixture for about 2 minutes, letting the herbs and spices infuse the butter.

  4. Combine Rice and Seasonings:
    Add the cooked and fluffed rice to the pan with the herbed butter and peas. Gently toss the rice, ensuring the butter and seasonings coat each grain. Taste and adjust the salt and pepper according to your preference.

  5. Serve:
    Once everything is well combined, turn off the heat and transfer the herbed buttered rice to a serving dish. Serve hot.
