Ingredients:

  • 4 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp coriander seeds
  • 1 tbsp whole black pepper
  • 2 tsp black salt or rock salt
  • 3 tbsp dried mango powder
  • 1/2 tsp asafoetida
  • Salt (to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Begin by dry roasting the cumin seeds, coriander seeds, and whole black pepper in a pan on a low flame. Stir occasionally for 8-10 minutes until they are lightly browned and aromatic.
  2. Turn off the heat and let the roasted spices cool down completely.
  3. Once cooled, transfer the mixture to a mixer jar. Add the black salt, dried mango powder, asafoetida, and regular salt (according to taste).
  4. Grind all the ingredients into a fine powder.
  5. Your homemade Chaat Masala is now ready! Use it to add flavor to chaas, salads, dahi vada, or any other dish that needs a spicy kick.
