- 3 sheets of yellow noodles
- 200 grams of fried shallots
- 2 bunches of celery, finely chopped
- Soy sauce
- Sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
Instructions
-
Prepare the Meat and Broth:
- Rinse the beef ribs and sandung lamur thoroughly. Place them in a large pot with 2 liters of water.
- Bring the water to a boil and add the beef ribs and sandung lamur. Simmer for 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld and the meat to become tender.
-
Add Bakso and Seasonings:
- After 1 hour, add the Bakso Sapi SB to the pot and continue to simmer for another 30 minutes. If the water level drops, add more water as needed.
- In the meantime, finely chop the garlic and fry it in a pan until crispy. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Add the beef broth seasoning, ground black pepper, beef flavor seasoning (Masako), and salt to the pot. Stir well to combine.
- Add the kaffir lime leaves if using, which will infuse the broth with a delightful aroma.
- Crush the crispy garlic and mix it into the soup. Stir well and adjust the seasoning according to your taste.
-
Prepare the Sambal:
- Boil the bird’s eye chilies in water for about 25 minutes until softened. Drain and blend the chilies into a smooth paste. Set aside.
-
Prepare the Noodles:
- Briefly soak the white rice noodles (bihun) and yellow noodles in hot water. Drain and set aside.
-
Serve:
- To serve, place a portion of the yellow noodles and bihun in each bowl. Top with fried shallots and chopped celery.
- Ladle the hot bakso soup over the noodles.
- Offer the sambal, soy sauce, and sweet soy sauce (kecap manis) on the side for additional flavor.
