Ingredients

- 1/2 cup roasted peanuts
- 4 shallots
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 stalk green onion
- 1 small tomato
- 3 red curly chilies
- 3 fried candlenuts
- 1/2 teaspoon shrimp paste
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon palm sugar (add white sugar and extra soy sauce if a sweeter taste is preferred)
- 3 Marie biscuits or crackers (for thickening the sauce)
- Salt to taste

- 1 small cucumber, diced (seeds removed)
- 1 small carrot, diced (optional, if available)
- 3 shallots, coarsely sliced
- 4 red bird’s eye chilies, coarsely sliced
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
