Sapi Lada Hitam (Indonesian Black Pepper Beef)

Ingredients:

  • 250 g beef, thinly sliced for quick tenderness
  • 1 green bell pepper, cut into cubes
  • 3 large red chilies, seeds removed and chopped
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • Marinate:
    • 2 tsp black pepper
    • 2 tbsp soy sauce
    • 2 tsp oyster sauce
    • Salt, to taste
    • 2 tbsp sweet soy sauce
    • Cooking oil

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Beef:

    • In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef with black pepper, soy sauce, oyster sauce, salt, and sweet soy sauce. Mix well and let it marinate for about 20 minutes.
  2. Cook the Garlic:

    • Heat some cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté the chopped garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add the Beef:

    • Add the marinated beef to the pan. Stir-fry until the beef is well coated with the seasonings and starts to brown.
  4. Incorporate the Vegetables:

    • Toss in the sliced onion, bell pepper cubes, and chopped red chilies. Stir-fry until the vegetables are slightly wilted. If necessary, add a small amount of water to help the cooking process, as the beef will release some moisture as it cooks.
  5. Adjust the Seasoning:

    • Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed. You can add more sweet soy sauce, salt, or soy sauce according to your preference.
  6. Serve:

    • Once everything is cooked through and the flavors are well combined, transfer the dish to a serving plate. Enjoy your delicious Sapi Lada Hitam!

Bon appétit! 🌶️🍽️
