Instructions

  1. Prepare the Eggs: Begin by boiling the egg for 5 minutes. Once done, cool it down and peel the shell.

  2. Fry the Potatoes: Peel, wash, and chop the potato into bite-sized pieces. Fry them until golden brown and cooked through.

  3. Fry the Tofu: Cut the tofu into pieces and fry until they are lightly golden and set aside.

  4. Make the Spice Paste: Blend the shallots, garlic, candlenuts, ginger, tomato, red chili, and nutmeg into a smooth paste. This will be your bumbu halus.

  5. Sauté the Spices: In a pan, heat the cooking oil over medium heat. Sauté the spice paste along with the bruised lemongrass and galangal, along with the bay leaves, until fragrant.

  6. Add Liquid and Seasonings: Pour in enough water to bring it to a boil. Then, add the sugar, sweet soy sauce, and ground pepper. Stir well to combine.

  7. Combine Ingredients: Add the fried tofu, potatoes, and boiled egg to the pan. Gently mix and let it simmer over low heat for about 12 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

  8. Final Seasoning: Add salt to taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.

  9. Serve: Your Semur Tahu, Kentang, dan Telur is ready to be served warm, making for a delightful and satisfying meal.

Enjoy this ultimate Indonesian comfort food that is sure to impress your loved ones!
