Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans
Instructions:
-
Cream Butter, Sugar, and Vanilla:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, cream the ingredients together until smooth and fluffy. -
Mix Flour and Salt:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt until well combined. Gradually add this mixture to the creamed butter and sugar mixture, stirring until a dough forms. -
Stir in Pecans:
Gently fold the chopped pecans into the dough until evenly distributed. The dough will be slightly sticky but should hold together well. -
Chill Dough:
Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 15 minutes. Chilling the dough will help it firm up, making it easier to handle and shape. -
Roll into Balls:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Remove the chilled dough from the refrigerator and roll it into 1-inch balls using your hands. Place the balls onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. -
Bake:
Bake the pecan balls in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until they are lightly golden brown around the edges. Be careful not to overbake them, as they can quickly go from golden to burnt. -
Roll in Powdered Sugar:
Once baked, remove the pecan goodies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes. While they’re still warm, gently roll each ball in additional powdered sugar to coat them evenly. -
Cool:
Transfer the coated pecan goodies to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, they are ready to be enjoyed! Serve them as a delightful snack, dessert, or pack them up for a picnic or potluck.
These Pecan Goodies are best enjoyed fresh but can also be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for several days. Whether you’re treating yourself or sharing them with friends and family, these sweet and nutty delights are sure to be a hit! 🍪🥜
