Pan-grilled Salmon with Lime and Dill πŸ‹πŸŸ

Description: This delightful recipe was born out of a craving for salmon amidst a busy day, perfect for those moments when time is of the essence. Pair it with boiled potatoes or rice alongside a microwaved veggie for a quick, satisfying dinner. The result? Juicy and moist salmon, with a firm texture – just the way it should be! Inspired by my dad’s favorite method of coating fish with mayonnaise for grilling, I’ve adapted it for pan-grilling, especially ideal for chilly days. The infusion of lime and dill complements the salmon beautifully, adding a burst of fresh flavor to each bite.

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Salmon:

    • Rinse the salmon and pat dry with paper towels.
    • Remove any bones that may be sticking out.
  2. Prep the Limes:

    • Rinse the limes thoroughly.
  3. Make the Mayonnaise-Lime Mixture:

    • In a medium bowl, place 3/4 cup of mayonnaise.
    • Cut the limes in half and squeeze the juice into the bowl.
    • Whisk or mix with a fork until smooth, ensuring no lumps remain. Add more mayonnaise if needed until the mixture reaches the consistency of a smooth, fairly thin cream sauce.
  4. Season the Mixture:

    • Crumple the dried dill between your fingers before adding it to the mixture, releasing extra flavor.
    • Season with salt to taste, ensuring even distribution of dill and salt throughout the mixture.
  5. Coat the Salmon:

    • Add the salmon steaks to the mayonnaise-lime mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  6. Prepare the Pan:

    • Spray a nonstick frying pan with non-stick cooking spray.
    • Place the pan on the stove over medium-high heat to preheat.
  7. Grill the Salmon:

    • Once the pan is hot, carefully place the salmon steaks in the pan. If cooking more than two steaks, you may need to cook them in batches.
    • Using a pastry brush, periodically brush additional mayonnaise-lime mixture over the top surface and sides of the salmon.
  8. Flip and Continue Cooking:

    • When the salmon appears opaque halfway through and is lightly browned (approximately 2 to 4 minutes), flip the steaks.
    • Brush the top surface and sides of the salmon with the mayonnaise-lime mixture a few more times.
    • Allow the salmon to cook through for an additional 2 to 3 minutes until it is opaque and firm throughout the thickest part.
  9. Serve Hot:

    • Once cooked to perfection, remove the salmon from the pan.
    • Serve immediately while piping hot and enjoy the juicy, flavorful goodness!

This pan-grilled salmon with lime and dill is not only quick and easy to prepare but also bursts with delicious flavors that will delight your taste buds. Whether it’s a hectic weeknight or a leisurely weekend dinner, this recipe is sure to become a favorite in your kitchen repertoire. Enjoy! 🍽️✨
