Telor Ceplok Versi 2: A Unique Fried Egg Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 free-range chicken egg
  • Olive oil (enough to coat the pan)
  • Water (as needed)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Pan: Begin by heating a generous amount of olive oil in a frying pan. You’ll need enough oil to coat the bottom of the pan, ensuring a non-stick surface for cooking the egg.

  2. Crack the Egg: Once the oil is hot, carefully crack the egg into the center of the pan. Let it cook undisturbed until the egg white is fully set and opaque.

  3. Add Water: Reduce the heat to low and pour a small amount of water into the pan around the edges of the egg. The steam from the water will help cook the egg white evenly without flipping the egg. As the water evaporates, gently push any uncooked white egg towards the yolk, allowing it to set completely.

  4. Cook Until Done: Continue cooking until all the water has evaporated and the egg white is fully cooked. Be patient and avoid flipping the egg, as this method is designed to maintain a beautiful, intact yolk.

  5. Season and Serve: Once the egg white is set and the water has evaporated, carefully lift the egg from the pan. Place it on top of a bed of fried rice or your preferred dish. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately while the egg is still hot and enjoy the delicious flavor.

This method of cooking ensures a tender, perfectly set egg white while keeping the yolk beautifully intact. Ideal for topping off fried rice or enjoying on its own!
