Savory Chicken with Oyster Sauce
Ingredients:
- 250 grams chicken breast or fillet, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger, minced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon (Royco)
- 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon butter (for sautéing)
Instructions:
-
Begin by cleaning the chicken and cutting it into bite-sized cubes.
-
Mince the garlic and ginger, and finely chop the onion and green bell pepper.
-
In a skillet, heat the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic, ginger, chopped onion, and green bell pepper to the skillet. Sauté until the mixture becomes aromatic and the vegetables start to soften.
-
Add the diced chicken to the skillet. Cook until the chicken is no longer pink, stirring occasionally to ensure even cooking.
-
Stir in the sweet soy sauce, oyster sauce, chicken bouillon, ground black pepper, granulated sugar, and light soy sauce. Mix everything thoroughly so that the chicken is well-coated with the sauce.
-
Allow the mixture to simmer for a few minutes, giving the flavors time to meld and the sauce to slightly thicken. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
-
Serve the savory chicken hot, accompanied by steamed rice for a complete meal.
