- 3 bay leaves and kaffir lime leaves
- 1 tsp tamarind paste (asam jawa)
- Brown sugar
- Salt
- Water
- Cooking oil
Spice Paste:
- 5 red chilies
- 2 cloves garlic
- 5 shallots
- 1 candlenut (kemiri)

Sauté the Spice Paste: Heat cooking oil in a pan, then sauté the spice paste until fragrant and slightly browned.
