Ingredients:

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 packet of Indofood Ayam Goreng seasoning mix
  • 4 stalks lemongrass, bruised
  • 10 kaffir lime leaves, torn
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 liter water

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Clean the chicken pieces thoroughly under cold water.

  2. Boil the Chicken: In a large pot, bring 1 liter of water to a rolling boil. Once boiling, add the chicken pieces.

  3. Add Flavorings: Stir in the Indofood Ayam Goreng seasoning mix, bruised lemongrass stalks, torn kaffir lime leaves, and salt. Mix well to ensure the chicken is evenly coated with the seasoning.

  4. Simmer: Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook until the chicken is tender and the water has mostly evaporated, concentrating the flavors. This usually takes around 30-40 minutes.

  5. Drain and Cool: Once the chicken is cooked through and the liquid has reduced, remove the chicken from the pot and drain well.

  6. Fry the Chicken: Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the chicken pieces until golden brown and crispy on the outside.

  7. Serve: Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot and enjoy your crispy Ayam Goreng Kilat!

This quick Indonesian fried chicken is a perfect combination of tender and flavorful chicken with a crispy exterior, ideal for a satisfying meal.
