Ikan Patin Kuah Kuning Seger

Ingredients

Bawang Putih (Garlic) 3 cloves
Kemiri (Candlenuts) 3 pieces
Kunyit (Turmeric) 2-3 cm
Cabe Rawit (Bird’s Eye Chili) To taste (young ones)
Garam (Salt) To taste
Penyedap (Flavor Enhancer) To taste
Daun Salam Kering (Bay Leaves) 2 leaves
Lengkuas (Galangal) To taste
Tomat Hijau (Green Tomatoes) 6 pieces
Minyak untuk menumis (Oil) As needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fish: Cut the ikan patin into pieces and clean thoroughly.
  2. Blend the Spices: In a blender, combine shallots, garlic, candlenuts, and turmeric. Blend until smooth, keeping galangal and bay leaves aside.
  3. Sautรฉ the Spices: In a pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add the blended spices along with the smashed galangal and bay leaves. Sautรฉ until fragrant.
  4. Add Water: Pour in enough water to create a broth, and bring it to a boil.
  5. Cook the Fish: Once boiling, add the ikan patin pieces and green tomatoes, cut into chunks.
  6. Season to Taste: Add salt and flavor enhancer as needed. Let it simmer until the fish is cooked through.
  7. Serve: Once done, remove from heat and serve hot.
