Ingredients:

Quantity Ingredient
1 1/2 ground beef
3/4 rice
2 water
1 onion
1 soy sauce
1 celery
4 Worcestershire sauce
2 chow mein noodles

Instructions:

  1. Cook ground beef until brown.
  2. Add onion and celery, cook until almost tender.
  3. Add remaining ingredients except chow mein noodles.
  4. Put into a two-quart casserole dish.
  5. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for one hour and fifteen minutes.
  6. Uncover and layer with chow mein noodles.
  7. Return to oven, uncovered, and bake until noodles are brown, about 15 minutes.

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until it’s browned and no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add diced onion and chopped celery to the skillet with the beef. Cook until they are almost tender.
  4. Stir in water, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well.
  5. Transfer the mixture into a two-quart casserole dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Cover the casserole dish and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for one hour and fifteen minutes.
  7. Remove the dish from the oven and uncover it.
  8. Layer the top with chow mein noodles.
  9. Return the dish to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the noodles are browned and crispy.
  10. Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
