Mun Tahu Daging Sapi: A Savory Beef and Tofu Stir-Fry

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams ground beef
  • 2 pieces of silken tofu
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 stalks green onions, sliced
  • 4 cm ginger, crushed
  • 3 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Maggi seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Raja Rasa sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Sugar, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Mushroom or Maggi stock cubes, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch (dissolved in water)
  • Water, as needed

Instructions:

  1. Heat the Oil:
    Begin by heating the sesame oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the finely chopped garlic and crushed ginger, sautéing until they release their fragrant aroma.

  2. Cook the Beef:
    Add the ground beef to the pan. Stir-fry for a few minutes until the beef starts to brown. If needed, pour in a small amount of water (about 100-200 cc) to help cook the beef thoroughly.

  3. Add Tofu and Green Onions:
    Once the beef has started to cook, incorporate the silken tofu that has been chopped into cubes and the sliced green onions.

  4. Season the Dish:
    Stir in the oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce, Maggi seasoning, Raja Rasa sauce, salt, sugar, black pepper, and mushroom or Maggi stock cubes. Mix well to combine all the flavors.

  5. Thicken the Sauce:
    Pour in the cornstarch mixture and continue stirring until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.

  6. Finish and Serve:
    Ensure everything is well combined and cooked through. Adjust seasoning if needed. Serve the Mun Tahu Daging Sapi hot, paired with steamed rice for a complete meal.
