Beef Yakiniku Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 kg beef, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
  • 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce (kecap asin)
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (gulgar)
  • 3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 2 shallots, thinly sliced
  • 1 green onion, sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch, mixed with a little water

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the beef slices with sesame oil, oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce, soy sauce, and black pepper. Mix well and marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator to allow the flavors to infuse.

  2. Prepare the Aromatics: Heat a little oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and shallots and sauté until they become fragrant and lightly golden.

  3. Cook the Marinade: Add the garlic and ginger paste to the pan. Stir-fry until the paste releases its aroma.

  4. Add the Beef: Incorporate the marinated beef into the pan, including all of the marinade. Pour in a small amount of water to help cook the beef and create a sauce. Cook until the beef is tender and the liquid has reduced.

  5. Season and Add Vegetables: Taste and adjust seasoning with sugar and additional black pepper if needed. Add the sliced onion and green onion to the pan. Continue cooking until the onions are softened.

  6. Thicken the Sauce: Stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook until the sauce thickens and bubbles.

  7. Serve: Remove from heat and transfer the beef to a serving dish. Enjoy hot with steamed rice or your choice of side.

This Beef Yakiniku recipe offers a deliciously savory and slightly sweet flavor profile, making it a perfect choice for a satisfying meal.
