Beef Yakiniku Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1/4 kg beef, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
- 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce (kecap asin)
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon sugar (gulgar)
- 3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 2 shallots, thinly sliced
- 1 green onion, sliced
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch, mixed with a little water
Instructions:

-
Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the beef slices with sesame oil, oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce, soy sauce, and black pepper. Mix well and marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator to allow the flavors to infuse.
-
Prepare the Aromatics: Heat a little oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and shallots and sauté until they become fragrant and lightly golden.
-
Cook the Marinade: Add the garlic and ginger paste to the pan. Stir-fry until the paste releases its aroma.
-
Add the Beef: Incorporate the marinated beef into the pan, including all of the marinade. Pour in a small amount of water to help cook the beef and create a sauce. Cook until the beef is tender and the liquid has reduced.
-
Season and Add Vegetables: Taste and adjust seasoning with sugar and additional black pepper if needed. Add the sliced onion and green onion to the pan. Continue cooking until the onions are softened.
-
Thicken the Sauce: Stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook until the sauce thickens and bubbles.
-
Serve: Remove from heat and transfer the beef to a serving dish. Enjoy hot with steamed rice or your choice of side.
