Savory Chicken and Tofu Skin Soup

Chicken with Tofu Skin Soup

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 sheets of tofu skin, soaked and cut into pieces
  • 2 carrots, peeled and sliced
  • A pinch of dried shrimp
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1000 ml water
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • Chicken broth, to taste
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Chicken and Carrots: In a large pot, bring the water to a boil. Add the chicken pieces and sliced carrots, seasoning with a pinch of salt. Simmer until the chicken is cooked through and tender.

  2. Prepare the Aromatics: While the chicken is cooking, heat the cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and dried shrimp, and sauté until fragrant and golden brown. Set aside.

  3. Combine Ingredients: Once the chicken is tender, add the soaked tofu skin, chicken broth (to taste), and soy sauce to the pot. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed. Stir well to combine all ingredients.

  4. Finish the Soup: Add the sautéed garlic and dried shrimp to the pot. Stir to mix everything evenly and let it simmer for a few more minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

  5. Serve: Ladle the soup into bowls and serve hot. Enjoy the comforting flavors of this delicious chicken and tofu skin soup!
