Spicy Balado Beef

Ingredients

  • 250 grams of beef
  • Ground Spices:
    • 8 red chilies
    • 8 shallots
    • 5 cloves of garlic
    • 1 cm ginger
  • Additional Ingredients:
    • Tamarind water
    • White sugar
    • Salt
    • Chicken seasoning (Masako)
    • Water (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef:

    • Boil the beef in water until tender. Once cooked, slice it thinly.
  2. Blend the Spices:

    • In a blender, combine the red chilies, shallots, garlic, and ginger. Blend until smooth.
  3. Cook the Spices:

    • Heat some oil in a pan and sauté the blended spices until fragrant.
  4. Add Tamarind and Beef:

    • Pour in the tamarind water and stir well. Add the sliced beef and mix until the beef is evenly coated with the spice mixture.
  5. Season and Simmer:

    • Season with white sugar, salt, and chicken seasoning to taste. Adjust the flavor as needed. Let the dish simmer until the spices are fully absorbed by the beef.
  6. Finish and Serve:

    • Once the beef is well-coated and flavorful, your Spicy Balado Beef is ready to serve. Enjoy with steamed rice or as a savory side dish.
