Spicy Balado Beef
Ingredients
- 250 grams of beef
- Ground Spices:
- 8 red chilies
- 8 shallots
- 5 cloves of garlic
- 1 cm ginger
- Additional Ingredients:
- Tamarind water
- White sugar
- Salt
- Chicken seasoning (Masako)
- Water (as needed)

Prepare the Beef:
- Boil the beef in water until tender. Once cooked, slice it thinly.

Blend the Spices:
- In a blender, combine the red chilies, shallots, garlic, and ginger. Blend until smooth.

Cook the Spices:
- Heat some oil in a pan and sauté the blended spices until fragrant.

Add Tamarind and Beef:
- Pour in the tamarind water and stir well. Add the sliced beef and mix until the beef is evenly coated with the spice mixture.

Season and Simmer:
- Season with white sugar, salt, and chicken seasoning to taste. Adjust the flavor as needed. Let the dish simmer until the spices are fully absorbed by the beef.
