Indulge in the delightful flavors of Steak Ikan Tenggiri Saus Putih, a dish that brings the essence of a restaurant experience right into your home kitchen. With tender mackerel fillets infused with aromatic spices and a rich white sauce, this recipe promises a delicious meal that’s perfect for any occasion. Let’s dive into the details!

Ingredients

For the Fish:

  • 8 pieces of mackerel (ikan tenggiri)
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon ground coriander (ketumbar bubuk)
  • 1 tablespoon salt (garam)
  • 5 tablespoons water (air matang)
  • 4 tablespoons margarine

For the White Sauce:

  • 5 tablespoons margarine
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped (bawang bombay)
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (terigu)
  • 200 ml liquid milk (susu cair)

For Serving:

  • French fries
  • Steamed vegetables (carrots, corn, green beans), cut into 2-inch pieces

Preparation Steps

1. Marinate the Fish

Begin by preparing the ingredients. In a blender or mortar, crush the garlic cloves and combine them with ground coriander, salt, and water. Use this mixture to coat the mackerel pieces thoroughly. Allow the fish to marinate for 15 minutes to let the flavors infuse beautifully.

2. Cook the Fish

In a non-stick frying pan (teflon), heat 4 tablespoons of margarine over low heat. Once the margarine has melted, add the marinated fish fillets. Cook gently, turning occasionally, until the fish changes color and is cooked through. Once done, remove the fish from the pan and set it aside, reserving any fish broth in the pan.

3. Prepare the White Sauce

In the same pan, add 5 tablespoons of margarine and allow it to melt. Sauté the crushed garlic and chopped onion until they become soft and fragrant. Sprinkle in the flour, stirring well to combine. Gradually pour in the milk, stirring continuously to avoid lumps, until the mixture thickens to a creamy consistency. Finally, add the reserved fish broth to the sauce, mixing well, and let it simmer until it reaches a gentle boil. Remove from heat.

4. Serve the Dish

Your delicious Steak Ikan Tenggiri is now ready to be served! Place the cooked fish on a plate, generously drench it with the rich white sauce, and accompany it with crispy French fries and vibrant steamed vegetables.

Enjoy!

This homemade dish is not only easy to prepare but also a delightful alternative to dining out, allowing you to enjoy restaurant-quality flavors in the comfort of your home. Bon appétit!
