Peanut Tofu Pie Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 blocks of tofu
- 60 grams of corn vermicelli (bihun jagung)
- 2 tablespoons of ready-made pecel sambal (peanut sauce)
- Chopped green onions (to taste)
- Salt (to taste)
- Extra pecel sambal for topping
Instructions:
-
Begin by soaking the corn vermicelli in hot water until it softens. Once softened, drain and set aside.
-
Using a fork, crumble the tofu into a mixing bowl.
-
In the same bowl, add the softened vermicelli, chopped green onions, 2 tablespoons of pecel sambal, and a pinch of salt. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.
-
Grease a pie mold with a bit of oil to prevent sticking. Pour the tofu mixture into the mold and press it down firmly to ensure it holds its shape. Continue filling and pressing until all the mixture is used.
-
Steam the pie for about 15 minutes, allowing it to set and cook through.
-
Once the pie has cooled, carefully remove it from the mold. If desired, briefly fry it in a pan to achieve a crispy exterior, though it is delicious even without frying.
-
Serve the pie topped with additional pecel sambal for an extra layer of flavor.
This dish is not only simple to prepare but also incredibly delicious. Enjoy this easy and delightful Peanut Tofu Pie!
