Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the pork sausage, finely chopped green onions, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and minced garlic, mixing well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  2. On a clean surface, lay out 8 wonton wrappers and lightly brush the edges of each with water to ensure they seal properly.

  3. Place approximately 1 tablespoon of the pork mixture in the center of each wrapper.

  4. Carefully gather the edges of the wrapper over the filling, ensuring that it is completely enclosed, and press the edges together to seal securely.

  5. Repeat the process with the remaining wonton wrappers and filling until they are all assembled.

  6. Prepare a large pot by placing a collapsible metal steamer rack inside, filling the pot with about ½ inch of water.

  7. Lightly spray the steamer rack with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking.

  8. Bring the water to a gentle simmer over medium heat.

  9. Working in batches, arrange the dumplings on the steamer rack, making sure to leave about 1 inch of space between each.

  10. Cover the pot with a lid and steam the dumplings for about 8 minutes, or until they are thoroughly cooked.

  11. Keep an eye on the water level in the pot, adding more as necessary to maintain the steam.

  12. Once cooked, transfer the dumplings to a serving platter and enjoy with Chinese hot mustard or your favorite dipping sauce.

These Oriental Pork Wrappers are perfect for a quick snack, an appetizer, or even a fun family cooking activity. Enjoy the burst of flavors and the joy of sharing this delightful dish!
