Stir-Fried Shrimp and Tofu in Oyster Sauce

Ingredients

4 pieces Yellow tofu, cut to your preference
3 cloves Garlic, minced
1 stalk Celery, diagonally sliced
1 Onion, chopped
3 tbsp Oyster sauce
1 tsp Mushroom broth powder (optional)
1 tsp Pepper
2 tbsp Sesame oil
2 tbsp Cornstarch, dissolved in water
To taste Water
Fried shallots (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tofu: Briefly fry the yellow tofu pieces until golden, then remove and set aside.

  2. Sauté Aromatics: In a pan, sauté the minced garlic and chopped onion until softened and fragrant. Add the shrimp and stir briefly.

  3. Create the Sauce: Pour in enough water to create a sauce, then add the fried tofu, oyster sauce, pepper, and optional mushroom broth powder.

  4. Simmer: Allow the mixture to simmer until the flavors meld and the sauce is absorbed by the tofu.

  5. Finish the Dish: Stir in the sliced celery, sesame oil, and the dissolved cornstarch, mixing well. Adjust seasoning to taste.
