Tomato ½ piece
Red chili (optional) 3 pieces (or to taste)
Candlenuts (kemiri) 2 pieces

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tempe: Begin by frying the tempe in oil until it is half-cooked. Once done, remove it from the heat, drain any excess oil, and set aside.

  2. Sauté the Spices: In a pan, heat a sufficient amount of oil over medium heat. Add the ground spices and sauté until they are wilted and aromatic.

  3. Create the Sauce: Pour in water and allow the mixture to come to a boil. Once boiling, add the sweet soy sauce, sliced green chilies, and salt. Stir well to combine.

  4. Combine Tempe: Gently add the fried tempe into the pan, mixing thoroughly to ensure it is well-coated with the sauce. Adjust the seasoning to your taste.

  5. Serve: Once everything is well-combined and heated through, remove from heat. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious Orek Tempe!

This delightful dish pairs beautifully with steamed rice, making it a perfect addition to any meal. Enjoy the rich flavors and the ultimate comfort it brings!
