Shrimp Frittata Recipe

Category: Main Dishes
Serves: 4

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Eggs 8
Shrimp (peeled and deveined) 800g
Parsley (fresh) 4 sprigs
Shallot 1
Garlic 1 clove
Extra virgin olive oil 20g
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Shrimp:
Start by washing the shrimp thoroughly under cold running water. Remove the heads by applying pressure and pulling them off. Then, peel the shell off the shrimp, making sure to extract the tail. Use a small knife to carefully cut along the back of the shrimp, and remove the dark intestinal vein. For a step-by-step guide on deveining shrimp, feel free to check out our cooking school.

  2. Prepare the Fresh Ingredients:
Next, wash the parsley stems and dry them with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels. Peel the garlic clove and the shallot. Place both on a cutting board and finely chop them into small pieces.

  3. Whisk the Eggs:
In a mixing bowl, crack the eggs and whisk them using a fork or a whisk until fully combined and slightly frothy.

  4. Sauté the Aromatics:
Heat the olive oil in a non-stick pan over low-medium heat. Add the chopped garlic, shallot, and parsley to the pan, tilting the pan to ensure the mixture spreads evenly. Cook for about 2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the aromatic ingredients release their fragrance.

  5. Cook the Frittata:
Once the aromatics have softened, pour in the beaten eggs, ensuring they cover the entire surface of the pan. Add the shrimp evenly across the top of the eggs. Let the frittata cook for a few minutes until the edges start to set, and then cover the pan with a lid. Turn off the heat and let the residual heat finish cooking the frittata.

  6. Serve:
Carefully slide the frittata onto a serving plate. You can enjoy it either hot or cold, depending on your preference. Slice it into wedges and serve it as a delightful meal for any time of the day!

Tip: This versatile frittata can also be paired with a light salad or some crusty bread for an even more satisfying meal.
