This savory stir-fry features a medley of aromatic spices and fresh ingredients, making it a perfect addition to your culinary repertoire. Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Tempe 1/2 papan
Tahu Putih 1/2 block
Cabai Kriting 3 pieces
Lengkuas 1 finger length
Daun Sereh 1 stalk
Cabai Rawit 15 pieces
Bawang Putih 3 cloves
Bawang Merah 6 cloves
Minyak to taste
Garam to taste
Kecap (sweet soy sauce) to taste
Kaldu to taste
Air (water) as needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tofu: Begin by cutting the tofu into small cubes. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the tofu until it is half-cooked and golden. Once done, remove the tofu from the pan and let it drain on paper towels.

  2. Sauté Aromatics: In the same pan, add more oil if needed, then sauté the sliced bawang merah (red onion), bawang putih (garlic), cabai rawit (bird’s eye chili), and cabai kriting (curly chili) until fragrant. This process enhances the dish’s aroma and brings out the flavors of the spices.

  3. Add Tempe and Spices: Next, add the tempe and the sliced lengkuas (galangal) along with the daun sereh (lemongrass). Stir-fry everything together until the tempe develops a lovely golden color.

  4. Combine Ingredients: Gently add the previously fried tofu back into the pan along with water to your liking. This step helps to blend the flavors together while keeping the dish moist.

  5. Season to Taste: Pour in the kecap (sweet soy sauce), followed by salt and kaldu (broth) to enhance the taste. Adjust the seasonings to your preference, ensuring that every bite is flavorful and satisfying.

  6. Serve: Once everything is well combined and cooked through, remove from heat. Serve hot, and enjoy your Oseng Tempe Tahu with steamed rice for a complete meal.
