Sautéed Beef with Black Pepper and Onion (Tumis Daging Sapi Bombay Lada Hitam)
Ingredients:
-
Beef:
- 250 grams of beef
- Marinade:
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- A pinch of ground coriander
-
Sliced Ingredients:
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 3 shallots
- 1 onion
- 3 red chilies (including bird’s eye chilies, adjust to taste)
- 1 tomato
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- Seasoning (optional)
Steps:
-
Prepare the Beef:
- Slice the beef thinly, approximately 1 cm thick (similar to steak slices).
- Marinate the beef slices with salt, black pepper, and ground coriander.
- Allow the beef to marinate for 30 minutes to let the flavors absorb.
-
Grill the Beef:
- Heat a non-stick pan and add a little margarine.
- Grill the marinated beef on the pan until one side is cooked, then flip to cook the other side. Adjust the doneness to your preference.
- Once cooked, slice the grilled beef into long strips.
-
Sauté the Ingredients:
- In the same pan, sauté the garlic, shallots, and onion until they become soft.
- Add the red chilies and tomato, stirring until well combined.
- Add the beef strips back into the pan.
- Season with additional black pepper and soy sauce. Adjust seasoning to taste. You can add more salt or seasoning if desired.
- Mix everything well and taste to adjust the flavors.
-
Serve:
- Remove from heat and serve immediately.
Note: I did not add extra salt during the sautéing process because the marinade provided enough seasoning. Additionally, I did not add any water, as I prefer the dish to be dry, and the beef was already tender.
Enjoy your delicious Sautéed Beef with Black Pepper and Onion! Perfect for a quick and flavorful meal.
