Spicy Lazy Egg Omelette Recipe

Lazy Omelette (Telur Dadar Malas)

Ingredients

  • 4 medium-sized eggs
  • Oil for frying (as needed)
  • 2 teaspoons rice flour

Spices:

  • 20 red bird’s eye chilies
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 5 shallots
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
  • A pinch of MSG (optional)
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Spices:

    • Finely chop the bird’s eye chilies, garlic, and shallots.
  2. Mix the Ingredients:

    • In a bowl, combine the eggs, chopped spices, rice flour, ground pepper, MSG (if using), and salt.
    • Beat the mixture with a fork until it becomes frothy.
  3. Fry the Omelette:

    • Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
    • Pour the egg mixture into the pan.
    • Fry until the bottom is golden brown and set.
    • Carefully flip the omelette once to cook the other side. Avoid flipping it multiple times to prevent the omelette from absorbing too much oil.
  4. Serve:

    • Once the omelette is fully cooked, remove it from the pan and place it on a serving plate.
    • Enjoy your Lazy Omelette with steamed rice or as a side dish.
