Tongkol Suwir: A Flavorful Tuna Dish

Ingredients:

  • 100 grams shredded tuna (tongkol)
  • 1 packet Bon Cabe (chili seasoning)
  • 1 green onion, finely sliced
  • 2 shallots, thinly sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 bird’s eye chilies (cabe rawit), sliced
  • 1 egg
  • Oil for sautéing
  • Salt and seasoning to taste

Instructions:

  1. Sauté Aromatics: In a pan, heat a drizzle of oil over medium heat. Add the sliced shallots and minced garlic, sautéing until they become fragrant and lightly golden.

  2. Cook the Tuna: Add the shredded tuna to the pan, stirring well to combine. Cook until the tuna is heated through and fully cooked, about 3-5 minutes.

  3. Incorporate Ingredients: Push the tuna mixture to the side of the pan. Crack the egg into the center and scramble it until just set. Then, mix everything together.

  4. Add Flavor: Stir in the sliced green onion, Bon Cabe seasoning, salt, and any additional seasoning you prefer. Adjust the seasoning to taste and ensure everything is well combined.

  5. Serve: Once the mixture is well integrated and cooked to your liking, remove from heat. Your delicious Tongkol Suwir is now ready to be served!
