Sambal Udang Petai Tempe: A Flavorful Delight from Dapur Mamah Cantik

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1/2 kg Shrimp
3 pods Petai (stink bean)
1 block Tempe (fermented soybean cake)
1 packet Ground chili
3 cloves Garlic
6 cloves Shallots
1 piece Tomato
To taste Cooking oil
To taste Seasoning powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Shrimp: Clean the shrimp by removing their heads and set aside.
  2. Prep the Petai: Split the petai pods in half and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Tempe: Dice the tempe into small cubes and fry until crispy.
  4. Make the Spice Paste: Blend the ground chili, garlic, shallots, and tomato until smooth.
  5. Sauté the Mixture: In a pan, heat some cooking oil over medium heat and sauté the spice paste until the raw smell dissipates, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Cook the Shrimp: Add the cleaned shrimp to the pan and stir-fry until they change color.
  7. Add Liquid: Pour in one glass of water and bring to a boil.
  8. Incorporate the Petai: After boiling for about 5 minutes, add the petai to the pan.
  9. Finish with Tempe: Finally, add the fried tempe and stir until the mixture thickens.
