Ingredients:
- 500g Fish
- 2 tsp Ginger paste
- 2 tbsp Curd (Dahi/Yogurt)
- 2 tbsp Mustard seeds (Rai/Kadugu) paste
- 1/2 tsp Tamarind paste
- 5 Dry red chilies
- 2 Green chilies
- 1/4 cup Fresh coconut, grated
- 2 tsp Coconut oil (or sunflower oil)
- 4 tsp Oil
- 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds (Rai/Kadugu)
- 1/4 tsp Chana dal (Bengal Gram Dal)
- 3 sprigs Curry leaves
- A pinch Black salt (Kala Namak)
- Salt, to taste

Prepare the Fish:
Clean the fish and make a few slits on each side. Marinate the fish with plain salt and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then, slice the fish into two halves. -
Make the Marinade:
In a bowl, combine ginger paste, mustard seed paste, tamarind paste, green chilies, red chili paste, freshly grated coconut, curd, salt, and 2 teaspoons of sunflower oil. Mix well. -
Marinate the Fish:
Coat the fish with the prepared spice mix and refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse. -
Grill the Fish:
Heat a grilled iron skillet with 2 teaspoons of sunflower oil. Cook the marinated fish for about 20 minutes or until fully cooked, turning occasionally to ensure even grilling. Once done, transfer the fish to a platter. -
Prepare the Fusion Sauce:
In a frying pan, heat coconut oil and add mustard seeds, dry red chilies, chana dal, a pinch of black salt, curry leaves, and grated coconut. Fry on high heat for a few minutes until the coconut turns golden. -
Serve:
