Stir-Fried Beef with Oyster Sauce
Ingredients:
- 250 grams of beef, thinly sliced
- 2 small onions, roughly chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 3 small Thai chilies
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Oil for cooking
- Water
- Salt, sugar, and seasoning to taste
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Beef:
- In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef with cornstarch and soy sauce. Mix well and let it marinate for 5-10 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate.
-
Cook the Beef:
- Heat a little oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until it is half-cooked. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
-
Sauté Aromatics:
- In the same pan, add a bit more oil if necessary. Sauté the chopped onions and minced garlic until they become fragrant and translucent.
-
Add Flavors:
- Stir in the oyster sauce, Thai chilies, sweet soy sauce, black pepper, and sesame oil. Cook for a minute to blend the flavors.
-
Combine and Simmer:
- Return the partially cooked beef to the pan. Stir everything together and add water as needed. Continue to cook, adding more water if necessary, until the beef becomes tender and the sauce has thickened. Allow the mixture to simmer until the liquid reduces and coats the beef.
-
Season and Serve:
- Adjust the seasoning with salt, sugar, and additional seasoning as desired. Taste and correct the flavors. Once everything is well-seasoned and the sauce is at the desired consistency, remove from heat.
-
Serving:
- Serve hot with steamed rice or your favorite side dishes. Enjoy your flavorful and savory stir-fried beef with oyster sauce!
This recipe combines the savory richness of oyster sauce with the heat of Thai chilies, creating a delightful dish that is perfect for any meal.
