Sarang Burung from DEBM (Eggs, Carrots, Bean Sprouts, and Spring Onions)

Ingredients:

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 medium carrot
  • 50 grams of bean sprouts
  • 2 spring onions
  • Flavor enhancer (optional, to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Vegetables:

    • Thoroughly clean the carrot, bean sprouts, and spring onions.
    • Using a cheese grater, grate the carrot finely. Thinly slice the spring onions.
  2. Mix the Ingredients:

    • In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs until well combined.
    • Add the grated carrot, bean sprouts, and sliced spring onions to the eggs. If desired, add a flavor enhancer to taste.
    • Mix everything together until evenly distributed.
  3. Steam the Mixture:

    • Pour the egg mixture into a steaming mold or heatproof dish.
    • Steam the mixture over medium heat until it solidifies and the texture becomes firm. You can test doneness by pressing gently with a spoon; it should not be soft.
  4. Finish the Dish:

    • Once steamed, allow the dish to cool slightly before removing from the mold.
    • For a crispy finish, you can shallow fry the steamed mixture in a hot pan until golden brown on both sides.
