Botok Teri Tahu Tempe

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Petai cina (or lamtoro) A handful
Teri medan (small anchovies) A handful
White tofu 3 finger lengths, diced small
Tempe 3 finger lengths, diced small
Young coconut, grated 1/2 piece
Egg 1
Banana leaves (for wrapping) As needed, heated over fire

Spices to Grind

Ingredient Quantity
Shallots 3 cloves
Garlic 4 cloves
Red chilies 3
Kaffir lime leaves 3 leaves, thinly sliced
Galangal 2 finger lengths, smashed
Salt To taste
Sugar To taste

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients, including the ground spices. Mix thoroughly to ensure even distribution of flavors.
  2. Spoon the mixture into banana leaves, folding and securing them with a staple or toothpick.
  3. Steam the wrapped mixture for about 30 minutes, or until fully cooked.
