Ingredients:

  • 1 large block of firm tofu
  • 1 red chili pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 200 grams of oyster mushrooms, chopped
  • 1 stalk of petai (bitter bean), sliced (optional, to taste)
  • 5 cloves of shallots, thinly sliced
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 stalk of scallions, chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • Mushroom broth powder, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the tofu, red chili pepper, diced tomato, chopped oyster mushrooms, sliced petai (if using), thinly sliced shallots, and chopped scallions.

  2. Season the Mixture: Add salt and mushroom broth powder to the mixture according to your taste preference. Mix everything well to ensure the seasonings are evenly distributed.

  3. Prepare for Steaming: Place the mixed ingredients into a stainless-steel bowl that fits comfortably within your steamer or a large pot.

  4. Steam the Mixture: Fill a large pot or wok with water, ensuring the water level is below the bottom of the bowl. Place the bowl in the pot or wok, and cover with a lid.

  5. Cook Until Done: Steam over medium heat until the tofu is cooked through and the vegetables are tender. This should take approximately 20-30 minutes.
