Telor Ceplok Kuah Kecap

Ingredients:

  • 5 large eggs
  • 10 shallots
  • 250 ml water
  • 4 tablespoons sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • Salt, pepper, and seasoning to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Eggs: Begin by frying the eggs until they are cooked to your liking. Set them aside on a plate.

  2. Prepare the Shallots: Roughly chop the shallots. In a pan, heat a bit of oil and sauté the shallots until they become fragrant and translucent.

  3. Create the Sauce: Add the water to the pan with the shallots. Stir in the sweet soy sauce (kecap manis) and oyster sauce. Allow the mixture to come to a boil.

  4. Combine Ingredients: Gently place the fried eggs into the simmering sauce. Season with salt, pepper, and any additional seasoning as desired.

  5. Simmer: Let the eggs cook in the sauce for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to slightly thicken.

  6. Adjust and Serve: Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary. Once the sauce has infused into the eggs, remove from heat. Serve hot.

Enjoy this savory and flavorful Indonesian dish with rice or as a standalone treat.
