Instructions:

  1. Prepare Oranges: Wash all oranges thoroughly. Quarter the oranges, removing seeds, and then slice them thinly. Place the seeds in a cheesecloth bag.

  2. Soak Oranges: Place the sliced oranges and the cheesecloth bag containing the seeds in a bowl. Cover them with water and let them stand for 24 hours.

  3. Boil Oranges: After soaking, transfer the oranges, seeds, and water into a non-corrosive pan. Add lemon juice to the mixture. Boil gently for 40-45 minutes or until the peel is soft.

  4. Remove Seeds: Once the peel is soft, remove the cheesecloth bag containing the seeds from the pan.

  5. Add Sugar: Stir in the sugar until it is completely dissolved. Continue to boil the mixture gently for an additional 40-50 minutes or until the jam starts to gel.

  6. Cool and Skim: Allow the marmalade to cool slightly. Skim off any foam that forms on the surface while stirring gently.

  7. Packaging: Ladle the marmalade into clean, sterilized jars, leaving a bit of space at the top. Seal the jars tightly.

  8. Water Bath Processing: Submerge the sealed jars in a water bath and process them for ten minutes to ensure proper sealing and preservation.

  9. Enjoy: Once cooled and sealed, your homemade orange marmalade is ready to be enjoyed! Spread it on toast, pair it with cheese, or use it as a glaze for meats. The possibilities are endless!

This homemade orange marmalade is not only delicious but also a delightful way to capture the essence of citrus fruits. Enjoy the burst of tangy sweetness with every bite! 🍊
