Ingredients
Quantity | Ingredient |
---|---|
1 3/4 cups | Flour |
1 tsp | Baking Soda |
1/2 tsp | Salt |
1 cup | Butter |
3/4 cup | Light Brown Sugar |
1/2 cup | Sugar |
2 tbsp | Milk |
2 tsp | Vanilla Extract |
2 | Eggs |
2 1/2 cups | Oatmeal |
12 oz | Chocolate Chips |
1 cup | Macadamia Nuts |
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Pre-heat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare Dry Ingredients: In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, beat together the butter, light brown sugar, and sugar until creamy and well combined.
- Prepare Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, combine the milk, vanilla extract, and eggs. Mix well.
- Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the butter and sugar mixture, beating until smooth.
- Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Gradually beat in the dry ingredients mixture until fully combined.
- Fold in Additions: Stir in the oatmeal, chocolate chips, and macadamia nuts until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Form Cookies: Drop rounded teaspoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving enough space between each cookie for spreading.
- Bake: Place the baking sheets in the preheated oven and bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 12 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown around the edges. [Note: Original recipe suggested 10 minutes, but I found that 12 minutes ensures fully baked cookies, especially for 2-inch cookies that are not too thick.]
Enjoy!
Once baked to golden perfection, allow the cookies to cool slightly on the baking sheets before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. These Chocolate Chip Macnut Cookies are best enjoyed fresh but can also be stored in an airtight container for several days. Serve with a glass of cold milk for a classic treat that never disappoints! 🥛
