Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 3/4 cups Flour
1 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Salt
1 cup Butter
3/4 cup Light Brown Sugar
1/2 cup Sugar
2 tbsp Milk
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
2 Eggs
2 1/2 cups Oatmeal
12 oz Chocolate Chips
1 cup Macadamia Nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Pre-heat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare Dry Ingredients: In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, beat together the butter, light brown sugar, and sugar until creamy and well combined.
  4. Prepare Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, combine the milk, vanilla extract, and eggs. Mix well.
  5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the butter and sugar mixture, beating until smooth.
  6. Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Gradually beat in the dry ingredients mixture until fully combined.
  7. Fold in Additions: Stir in the oatmeal, chocolate chips, and macadamia nuts until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  8. Form Cookies: Drop rounded teaspoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving enough space between each cookie for spreading.
  9. Bake: Place the baking sheets in the preheated oven and bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 12 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown around the edges. [Note: Original recipe suggested 10 minutes, but I found that 12 minutes ensures fully baked cookies, especially for 2-inch cookies that are not too thick.]

Enjoy!

Once baked to golden perfection, allow the cookies to cool slightly on the baking sheets before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. These Chocolate Chip Macnut Cookies are best enjoyed fresh but can also be stored in an airtight container for several days. Serve with a glass of cold milk for a classic treat that never disappoints! 🥛
