Low-Calorie Chicken Steak Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1/2 boneless chicken breast
- 2 medium potatoes
- A handful of edamame
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 5 tablespoons barbecue sauce (Del Monte)
- 3 tablespoons chili sauce (Del Monte)
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- Salt, to taste
- Sugar, to taste
- White pepper, to taste
- Lemon juice, to taste
- Margarine, for sautéing
- Water, as needed
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Chicken:
- Rinse the chicken breast thoroughly. Squeeze lemon juice over the chicken and let it marinate for about 30 minutes.
- After marinating, rinse the chicken again. Season it with salt and white pepper.
- Steam the chicken breast until fully cooked. This typically takes about 20 minutes depending on the thickness of the chicken.
-
Cook the Potatoes and Edamame:
- Peel and cut the potatoes into chunks. Boil them along with the edamame in salted water for 8-10 minutes or until tender. Drain and set aside.
-
Make the Sauce:
- In a pan, heat a small amount of margarine over medium heat. Sauté the minced garlic and chopped onion until fragrant.
- Add the barbecue sauce, chili sauce, and oyster sauce to the pan. Stir well to combine.
- Season the sauce with a pinch of sugar, salt, and white pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add a little water to reach your desired consistency. Let it simmer for a few minutes until the flavors meld.
-
Serve:
- Arrange the steamed chicken on a plate. Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken.
- Serve the chicken alongside the boiled potatoes and edamame.
