Spicy Tofu Roll (Rolade Tahu Pedas)

Ingredients:

  • 1 large Chinese tofu (about 1/2 block)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 shallots
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 7 bird’s eye chilies
  • 1/4 onion
  • Salt to taste
  • Flavor enhancer (optional)
  • 10 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Cooking oil for frying
  • For garnish:
    • Omelet (cooked)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:

    • Slice the shallots, garlic, onion, and bird’s eye chilies into thin pieces.

  6. Incorporate Flour:

    • Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the tofu mixture, stirring continuously to ensure the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  7. Prepare for Steaming:

    • Lay out a piece of plastic wrap on a flat surface. Spread out the omelet on the plastic wrap. Spoon the tofu mixture evenly over the omelet.
  8. Roll and Steam:

    • Using the plastic wrap, carefully roll the omelet with the tofu mixture into a log shape. Secure the ends of the plastic wrap and steam the roll for about 15 minutes.
