Chocolate Mousse with Vanilla Aroma
Category: Desserts
Servings: 8

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Dark Chocolate 350g
Heavy Cream 500ml
Vanilla Bean 1
Gelatin Sheets 4g
Whole Milk 250g

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Gelatin: Begin by soaking the gelatin sheets in cold water for about 10 minutes, ensuring they are completely submerged.

  2. Chop the Chocolate: Finely chop the dark chocolate using a sharp knife, making sure it is in small, uniform pieces for even melting.

  3. Extract Vanilla Seeds: Slice the vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape the seeds out with the back of a knife. Set both the seeds and the pod aside.

  4. Infuse the Milk: Place the milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the vanilla pod and seeds to the milk, letting it infuse as it heats up. Remove the milk from the heat just before it begins to boil.

  5. Dissolve the Gelatin: Squeeze the soaked gelatin sheets to remove excess water and then stir them into the warm milk. Ensure the gelatin fully dissolves in the milk.

  6. Combine Chocolate and Milk: Gradually pour the hot milk mixture over the chopped chocolate, stirring gently to ensure the chocolate melts smoothly. Allow the chocolate-milk mixture to cool down to room temperature.

  7. Add Whipped Cream: In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until it forms soft peaks. Once the chocolate mixture has cooled, slowly fold in the whipped cream, mixing carefully from the bottom to the top. Be gentle to preserve the airiness of the whipped cream and prevent it from deflating.

  8. Set the Mousse: Cover the mousse with plastic wrap, pressing it directly onto the surface to prevent a skin from forming. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the mousse is fully set and firm.

  9. Serve: Once the mousse has chilled and set, serve it in individual bowls or glasses. You can garnish with grated chocolate or fresh berries for an extra touch of elegance.

Tips:

  • For a richer flavor, consider using 70% dark chocolate.
  • The mousse can be prepared a day ahead, making it perfect for dinner parties or special occasions.
  • To make it extra indulgent, top with whipped cream or a drizzle of chocolate sauce just before serving.

Enjoy this velvety and indulgent chocolate mousse with a delicate vanilla aroma—your guests will love the perfect balance of flavors in this delightful dessert!
