Roti Goreng Isi Ragout Ayam (Stuffed Fried Bread with Chicken Ragout)
Ingredients:
- Bread: 15 slices white bread
- Egg: 2, beaten
- Bread Crumbs: As needed
For the Ragout:

- Margarine or Butter: 2 tablespoons
- Small Onion: 1, finely chopped
- Garlic Cloves: 2, finely chopped
- Ground Chicken: 150 grams
- Carrots: 2, diced small
- Potato: 1, diced small
- Spring Onions: 2 stalks, finely sliced
- Flour: 2 tablespoons
- Milk: 200 ml
- Ground Pepper: ½ teaspoon
- Nutmeg: ¼ piece, grated
- Sugar: To taste
- Salt: To taste
- Chicken Bouillon Powder: To taste

Prepare Vegetables:
- Briefly boil the diced potatoes and carrots until tender. Drain and set aside.

Make the Ragout:
- In a pan, melt the margarine or butter over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until aromatic.
- Add the ground chicken to the pan. Cook, stirring frequently, until the chicken is fully cooked and begins to brown.
- Stir in the flour and cook for a minute to eliminate the raw flour taste.
- Gradually pour in the milk while stirring to avoid lumps. Continue to cook until the mixture thickens.
- Add the boiled carrots, potatoes, and sliced spring onions to the mixture. Season with ground pepper, grated nutmeg, sugar, salt, and chicken bouillon powder. Mix well and cook until the ragout is thick and the flavors are well combined. Adjust seasoning as needed.
- Allow the ragout to cool.

Prepare the Bread:
- Trim the edges of the bread slices if using crusted bread. Steam the bread slices briefly until they become pliable.

Assemble the Roti Goreng:
- Place a spoonful of the cooled ragout on one side of a bread slice. Fold the bread in half and press the edges together to seal.

Bread and Fry:
- Dip each stuffed bread in the beaten egg, then coat thoroughly with bread crumbs.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the bread until golden brown and crispy on both sides.

- Remove the fried bread from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve warm as a delicious snack or appetizer.
