Orek Tempe with Peanuts and Anchovies

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Peanuts 2 handfuls
Tempe (fermented soybeans) 1 piece (approx. IDR 4,000)
Medan anchovies 1 handful
Red shallots 2 pieces
Garlic 1 clove
Curly red chilies 3 pieces
Salt to taste
Cooking oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preparation: Cut the tempe into matchstick-sized pieces and season with a pinch of salt. Slice the red shallots, garlic, and red chilies thinly.

  2. Fry the Main Ingredients: Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the tempe, peanuts, and Medan anchovies, frying until crispy and golden brown.

  3. Cook the Aromatics: In a separate pan, fry the sliced red shallots and garlic until they are fragrant and just starting to brown. Then, add the sliced red chilies and continue frying until everything is well-cooked and crispy.

  4. Combine: Once all the components are cooked, combine them in a large bowl, mixing thoroughly.
